Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet convened a Meeting on mainstreaming former MTAC Staff into Nakawa Vocational Training Institute

On Wednesday, 19th August 2026, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet convened a meeting to address matters relating to the mainstreaming of former staff of the Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC) into Nakawa Vocational Training Institute.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports; Secretary, Public Service Commission; Deputy Solicitor General; Commissioner, Management Services, Ministry of Public Service; Acting Commissioner responsible for Subsidiary Legislation; representatives of the former staff of MTAC; and staff of Nakawa Vocational Training Institute.

The meeting provided a platform for the relevant stakeholders to discuss and resolve outstanding issues relating to the absorption of former MTAC staff into Nakawa Vocational Training Institute. The discussions focused on ensuring that the mainstreaming process is undertaken in an orderly manner and in accordance with the applicable Public Service structures, procedures and legal framework.

The meeting reaffirmed Government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and effective integration of the affected staff while maintaining continuity in the delivery of training and related services.
