Rapid assessment of the Limoto Wetland Restoration Project

H.E. the President directed the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet together with the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of: Water and Environment; Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries; Local Government; and the State House Comptroller to undertake a rapid assessment of the Limoto Wetland Restoration Project in Pallisa District.

Accordingly, on Wednesday, 26^th November 2025, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet successfully undertook the assessment with the Permanent Secretaries mentioned above.

The objectives of the assessment were as follows:

1. Establish the current status of the Limoto Wetland Restoration Project and review its impact;
2. Identify sustainable interventions necessary to address existing challenges and consolidate the achievement of the project;
3. Engage the project beneficiaries and community leaders to obtain feedback on the project.
4. Prepare a report on the findings and recommendations which will be submitted to H.E. the President.
